Today however we were one of only four tables occupied over lunch. Not that I am complaining &#8211; I enjoyed the lunch. I joked that they were better than the ones we had at <a title=\"Hibiscus\" href=\"https:\/\/www.noexpert.co.uk\/food\/?p=1511\" target=\"_self\">Hibiscus<\/a>, and realised it was not a joke, as they really were discernibly better. The main course selection was more basic, we had a stir fry and a curry dish.\u00a0 Neither of which would have been worth the full price (but as part of the deal &#8211; were more than acceptable). The desserts were interesting too, I had a lovely dish described as egg custard, sogo coconut and caramel, and my companion had a selection of\u00a0 ice creams which were much more adventurous than you expect with a set lunch\u00a0 &#8211; including one made from the rather <a title=\"Comment about Durian fruit\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spurgeon.org\/~phil\/durian.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">infamous Durian fruit<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We\u00a0 had a couple of very good reasonably priced cocktails in the bar and I was\u00a0 pleasantly surprised by the quality and range of their wine list.\u00a0 As well as a good selection by the glass and several bottles under \u00a330, they had an excellent range of fine wines and champagnes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p><a title=\"Top page - Noexpert.co.uk\" href=\"https:\/\/www.noexpert.co.uk\/food\">Return to Top Page<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Experienced Awana in what was probably an untypical situation.\u00a0 That is, on a bank holiday using an evening standard \u00a315 three course set lunch deal.\u00a0 Other reviews I have read do indicate that this place is normally buzzing.
