{"id":8695,"date":"2010-05-08T23:02:16","date_gmt":"2010-05-08T22:02:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/noexpert.co.uk\/?p=8695"},"modified":"2021-11-01T23:13:20","modified_gmt":"2021-11-01T23:13:20","slug":"the-capital-comforting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.noexpert.co.uk\/food\/?p=8695","title":{"rendered":"The Capital &#8211; comforting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Made a lunch time visit to <a title=\"The Capital\" href=\"http:\/\/www.capitalhotel.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Capital<\/a>, to see how it fairs under &#8220;newish&#8221; head chef J\u00e9r\u00f4me Ponchelle, compared to my last visit when\u00a0<a title=\"Eric Chavot\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eric_Chavot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eric Chavot <\/a>was running the kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>It was actually impossible to judge as the set lunch was very different from my last\u00a0\u00e0 la carte experience. However that is not to say it was not excellent, it was.\u00a0 Well worth it, especially the amazing portion of lamb carved at the table. Delicious.<\/p>\n\n<p>They had a\u00a0good selection of wines by the glass. Prices were\u00a0typically between \u00a38.00 and \u00a312.00 a glass, so ordering bottles was a better deal.
