{"id":26119,"date":"2015-02-06T19:01:17","date_gmt":"2015-02-06T19:01:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/noexpert.co.uk\/?p=26119"},"modified":"2021-09-15T00:14:58","modified_gmt":"2021-09-14T23:14:58","slug":"le-weekend-in-sandwich-town","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.noexpert.co.uk\/food\/?p=26119","title":{"rendered":"Le Weekend in Sandwich aka La Baguette :)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Le Weekend\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sandwichevents.org.uk\/Le-Weekend-sandwich-events.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Le Weekend<\/a> is an annual event held in the lovely historic town of <a title=\"Sandwich\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sandwich,_Kent\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sandwich<\/a>. usually around about the first weekend in June. It&#8217;s quite amazing &#8211; the sleepy town of Sandwich wakes up and is full of people. The shops and cafes spill out onto the street, it&#8217;s all very continental, especially when the weather is as good as it was on our visit.<\/p>\n<p>The highlight of Le Weekend for me is the French market, which is the real deal, full of French produce sold by French people. I bumped into some <a title=\"Ramsgate\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ramsgate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ramsgate<\/a> friends who were also visiting the Market. They have a house in France and are very familiar with French Markets, they were suitably impressed commenting that it was actually a lot better than many Markets in France.
