{"id":1033,"date":"2009-01-11T12:58:57","date_gmt":"2009-01-11T12:58:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/noexpert.co.uk\/?p=1033"},"modified":"2021-10-31T22:37:10","modified_gmt":"2021-10-31T22:37:10","slug":"raco-den-friexa-playing-with-your-food","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.noexpert.co.uk\/food\/?p=1033","title":{"rendered":"El Raco d&#8217;en Freixa &#8211; playing with your food!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On our last trip to Barcelona, we had planned to spend the Saturday evening at <a title=\"Moo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.noexpert.co.uk\/food\/?p=376 \" target=\"_self\">Moo<\/a>, but could not get a table, so at short notice via <a title=\"toptable\" href=\"http:\/\/www.toptable.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">toptable<\/a> I\u00a0made a reservation\u00a0at <a title=\"El Raco d'en Freixa\" href=\"http:\/\/www.elracodenfreixa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">El Raco d&#8217;en Freixa<\/a> instead.<\/p>\n<p>When we arrived we were taken through the attractive front room, past the Kitchen into the rather dull small\u00a0backroom, yes it looked like we had got the worst table in the Restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>As we often do when we first try a restaurant we went for the tasting menu. The food here is &#8220;fun&#8221; as the chef likes to play with your preconceptions.\u00a0 The meat course looks like a dessert, and the desert looks like meat etc. The highlight was &#8220;the burger!&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest surprise was not the food however,\u00a0it was\u00a0the guest at the next table who got up and came over to speak to us. Talk about a small world, it was Markus Lindner, the restaurant Manager of the <a title=\"Foliage\" href=\"https:\/\/www.noexpert.co.uk\/food\/?p=8\" target=\"_self\">Foliage<\/a> in London.
