The <a title=\"Turner Contemporary\" href=\"http:\/\/www.turnercontemporary.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Turner Contemporary Gallery<\/a> and the <a title=\"Dreamland Project\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dreamlandmargate.com\/project_team.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dreamland project<\/a> are two major enterprises that are contributing to the towns regeneration. On a sunny day the Harbour and old town area can be really vibrant &#8211; if you put on your Rose tinted glasses it&#8217;s a great place.\u00a0 Margate is ARTY. Margate is RETRO. It&#8217;s full of also sorts of items, including industrial style lighting.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-27300\" title=\"tn_lk2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.noexpert.co.uk\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/tn_lk2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"700\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><a title=\"The Old Kent Market\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theoldkentmarket.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Old Kent Market<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; is a covered market, it is on the seafront opposite the Turner Gallery in a converted Cinema. There are lots of stalls spread over two floors, with the ground floor dominated by a cafe bar in a London Bus and some excellent food stalls selling fruit, fish, cheese and bread. The cheese is sold from the second outlet of British Cheese specialist\u00a0<a title=\"The Cheese Box\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thecheesebox.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Cheese Box<\/a> and the bread is from <strong>The\u00a0Bishop&#8217;s Bread Company<\/strong>. Their Bakery is on the premises, so you can watch the Bakers at work (<a title=\"Video of The Bishops Bread Company\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/ZJKp1ZvUup4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here<\/a> to see a\u00a0video of\u00a0<strong>The Bishops Bread Company<\/strong> in action). The smell of freshly baked goods is wonderful, it permeates through out the Market.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-26899\" src=\"https:\/\/www.noexpert.co.uk\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/tn_IMG_20160403_152155918_HDR2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Haeckels\" href=\"http:\/\/haeckels.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Haeckel&#8217;s<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; is situated directly opposite The Lido in Cliftonville. It&#8217;s a unique place that designs fragrances based on seaweed, herbs and grasses.\u00a0 Haeckels have also introduce the Worlds first\u00a0<a title=\"Bathng Machine Sauna\" href=\"http:\/\/haeckels.co.uk\/2014\/08\/06\/worlds-first-sea-bathing-machine-sauna\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Sea Bathing Machine Sauna<\/a> to the area.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-25154\" title=\"tn_Ih1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.noexpert.co.uk\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/tn_Ih1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><em>Vintage\/Retro shops<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Margate also has plenty of Retro shops to have a rummage in:-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For Antiques, Vintage and Retro from 1770 to 1970\u00a0check out <a title=\"Paraphernalia\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Paraphernalia-Antiques-Vintage-and-Retro-from-1770-to-1970\/113330055422564\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paraphernalia<\/a> in King Street.<\/li>\n<li>For retro\/vintage clothes shops you have lots to choose from, with places like <a title=\"Madam Popoff\" href=\"http:\/\/www.madampopoff.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Madam Popoff<\/a>, and\u00a0<a title=\"Handsome Freaks\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HFWVintage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Handsome Freaks<\/a>\u00a0in the old town and\u00a0<a title=\"Rate Race\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ratracemargate.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rat Race<\/a> in the Old Kent Market.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><em>Galleries<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Margate has a fair number of Galleries as well. The premier one being the famous <a title=\"Turner Contemporary\" href=\"http:\/\/www.turnercontemporary.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Turner Contemporary<\/a>.
